The Marche region offers a continuous succession of small towns and villages distinguished by their traditions and peculiarities. A region in the plural that is in fact the union of many small autonomies developed parallel that have made the history of the Marche.
This particular characterization is found both traveling along the coast and inland. Small realities often perched on top of spurs or hills to remember their origins of medieval villages and outposts or Renaissance centers. Fortifications and castles, bastions and towers, narrow streets and squares, theatres and churches, craft and commercial shops: these are the ingredients that we find in many villages of the Marche.
