Historic Center of Naples

The historic center is the beating heart of Naples, that union between art, history and legend that make the city so popular worldwide.

Symbol of the historic center is the Cathedral dedicated to Maria Assunta and San Gennaro, the patron saint of the city.

Through via Duomo you can then reach, passing the Basilica of San Paolo built on an ancient temple of the Dioscuri of which today there are still two original Corinthian columns, the famous district of San Gregorio Armeno, where the nativity scene is the master: Walking around during Christmas is a unique emotion.

Continuing along alleys and "vicarielli", you reach Piazza San Domenico Maggiore.

A visit to the Veiled Christ is a must, a baroque piece preserved in the Sansevero Chapel.

Finally, you arrive in Piazza del Gesù, where the obelisk of the Immaculate stands.

Right on the facade of the Church of Jesus, from which the square takes its name, is located the UNESCO plaque engraved with the reason for which the historic center of Naples has become a world heritage site.
