Chieti (CH) - Abruzzo

Chieti is an Italian town of 48 527 inhabitants, capital of the homonymous province in Abruzzo..

Divided between the hilly old town, located between the rivers Pescara and Alento, and the Chieti district in Val Pescara, the city is located a short distance from both the sea and the mountain.

In the past it was the main city of the Marrucini people, town hall at the time of the Romans, and later capital of Abruzzo Citeriore; during the Second World War it was declared an open city because of the large number of displaced people who found refuge there.
